lapel pin with Holmes' face in a Scout fleur-di-lis

Jerry Riggs is a 50-year veteran Scout and Scouter with Chief Okemos Council, Lansing, Michigan. His studies of Scout history, its founder, Lord Baden-Powell ("B-P"), and of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and his fictional hero Sherlock Holmes revealed an integral link with the original training scheme for B-P’s cavalry Scouts and later his Boy Scouts. Riggs' books, aimed at a pre- and early teen audience of boys, are rousing adventures intended to stress the elements of ‘scouting’ as prescribed by the founder of scouting, Lord Baden-Powell of Boer War fame. Designed by Mr. Riggs, the S.H.E.R.L.O.C.K. lapel pin (left) visions the face of the Great Detective within a Scouting fleur-di-lis. The badge can be ordered from the author himself for $4.95 each + $2.00 shipping & handling (Michigan residents only add 30¢ tax). Add $.50 S&H for each additional pin. Books may also be ordered from Mr Riggs: The Unusual Sherlock Holmes is $18.95 (+MI tax $1.30) and Sherlock Holmes: Return to the Musgrave Ritual is $15.95 (+MI tax $.96). S&H for the first book is $5.00, add $1.00 for each additional book. Send check or money order to Jerry ‘B-P’ Riggs, 303 S. Norton St., Corunna MI 48817. Email SherlockianScout@yahoo.com
