The Hound of the Baskervilles
One of four Sherlock Holmes novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,
The Hound of the Baskervilles was published as a serial in the Strand
magazine from August 1901 to April 1902. It is an exciting tale, filled
with mystery and hints of the supernatural, with characters that capture
the imagination. A classic novel that is full of action and adventure,
it has long been a favorite for Sherlockians to recommend to those new
to Sherlock Holmes.

Many films have been made of The Hound of the Baskervilles. As of 2006, Wikipedia notes there have been 24 of them.
